This policy covers the IDX app and the IDX App Clip for iPhone ("the app").
The short version
- Your information stays on your phone. The app does not upload your ID, selfie, voice, transcripts or summaries to us or to anyone else. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The full app keeps a history on your phone (voice-note summaries and ID check results) so you can look at them later. You can delete any of it, or all of it, whenever you like.
- The App Clip keeps nothing. When you close it, what you did in it is gone.
- The only thing that ever leaves your phone is an email you choose to send.
What the app does
Verify an ID. With your permission the app uses the camera to photograph an identity document and take a selfie, reads the document's printed text and barcode, checks that the selfie is of a live person (a blink and a head turn) and compares the face on the document with your selfie. All of this is done on your phone by software inside the app. Nothing is sent to a server.
Voice enquiry ("Think out loud"). On supported iPhones, with your permission to use the microphone and speech recognition, the app turns what you say into text and then into a short written summary using Apple's on-device speech and language models. Audio is not saved. Neither IDX nor the app sends your words anywhere.
Sending an enquiry. If you choose to send, the app opens your own Mail app with a message to hello@idxstudioz.com already written: the summary, your transcript, and the name and email address you typed. You review it and press send yourself. We receive it as an ordinary email and use it only to reply to you. (The App Clip cannot open Mail, so it offers to copy the text or share it instead.)

History is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. It is protected by iOS file protection, it is not included in iCloud or computer backups, and it is removed if you delete the app. We cannot see it.
Your choices
- Delete it. Open History on the app's Home screen. Swipe a row to delete it, open an item and tap the bin, or tap Delete all to erase everything, including photos.
- Permissions. You can turn off camera, microphone and speech recognition access in iOS Settings at any time. Features that need them will stop working.
- Emails you sent us. To ask about or delete an enquiry email you sent us, write to hello@idxstudioz.com.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your information, track you across apps or websites, build profiles, or use your ID, face or voice data for anything other than the actions described above. The app contains no advertising or analytics code and makes no network requests of its own.
Apple's technologies
The app uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and language models. Apple describes how those work in its own documentation; the app does not send your recordings or text to Apple's servers.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date above, and the app's description in the App Store.
